SLASI the national organization representing the
Software Industry in Sri Lanka has 51 members. The
members are those conducting business in the
development of software and software related
services.

To develop opportunities in the domestic and
international market for the benefit of its members.

Promotion of Software and Software related services
to achieve the best use of Information Technology
and thereby contribute to the balanced growth of the
Sri Lankan Economy.
To encourage and promote the earning of foreign
exchange by means of the export of Sri Lankan
Software and Software related services.
To
create, foster and promote recognition of the
intrinsic intellectual, commercial, and economic
value of software amongst the public at large and
users in specific.
To promote and disseminate useful knowledge on Information Technology in general
and the Software Industry in particular, so as to enhance the contribution of
these to the growth and development of the Sri Lankan National Economy.

To
hold seminars and workshops for the training of the
IT management staff
To
publish a Directory of members
To
make policy recommendations to the government

Member
firms of the Association have experience in
developing software not only for the domestic market
but also for export.
Our members with their teams of dedicated professionals are geared to provide
On-site services – Offshore Services.
They
have proven expertise in emerging and commercially
available technologies that encompass areas such as
the use of CASE, UML, RAD tools in Software
Development; the design and development of visually
intuitive Graphical User Interfaces (GUI’s); the use
of object Oriented Programming Technologies,
Wireless applications, the move towards n-tier
Client/Server Computing and the use of current
software development methodologies.

The SLASI Secretariat provides full
administrative support to the Council and
the various SLASI sub committees.
SLASI
encourages high standards of conduct,
service and performance throughout the
industry to develop the confidence and
respect of the public. This is done through
the formulation and maintenance of the code
of conduct which all members abide by. |
